January 25 UpdateCindy and I weighed ourselves, but we didn't get to do it until after lunch. Yeah, I know extra weigh in the afternoon. Well, Cindy came in at 247lbs and I was 262 lbs. Cindy gained and I lost. Go figure. I would love a personal trainer!
Elizabeth January 15 January 15Today I stayed very busy. I monitored what I ate and tried not to overdo. I am having a little trouble with my energy level. That has been my problem all along. I would like to know if there is a combination of food or vitamins that will boost your energy. Any help will be great.
Elizabeth January 13 Summary for ElizabethYesterday I worked very hard to stay active. I watched what I ate and Cleaned my back yard. I even built a compost bin to keep all of my yard waste in. It felt great being outside and doing something that I have always wanted to do but usually found myself in front of the TV, saying to myself, "I will do it when I feel better." Well, now I feel like I have really accomplished something, and that makes me feel great. Maybe today I will try and clean the front yard.
Thanks for stopping by!! January 11 Our Biggest Loser profileCindy and Elizabeth's Stories:
My name is Cindy Watson Ott. I live in a small town named Farmville, VA (you gotta love the name). I work at Blackstone Primary School which is where I found my biggest Loser partner Elizabeth Hendricks. I am 44 years old and I weigh 244 lbs. I take medication for high blood pressure and last June I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. In 1982 I was a member of the USA World Karate team that participated in Taipei, Taiwan. My teammates would not recognize me now. I am a single parent of an active 11 year old son. I want to be around to be a great parent for Dylan and the students I teach for a long, long time. Please Help!
Hello, My name is Elizabeth Hendricks, I too am a single parent of an 11 year old. I work at the same school with Cindy and was very delighted when she picked me to be her partner for this contest. I have struggled with weight gain my whole life. I weigh more now than I ever have. I have enjoyed many outdoor sports, and help coach my son's ball teams. Now all I do is sit and watch. My body tells me all the time that it is time to start getting serious about loosing weight, but my mind tells me, "it is too late, the damage has already been done, so enjoy that extra oreo." We live in a time where convience has hurt us and I work with a lot of children who are suffering from being over weight. I would like to make a difference not only in my own life but in some of theirs as well.
We plan to win the contest by changing our eating habits, (no fast food, no school lunches, no junk food) and we will increase our excercise (Cindy has the YMCA and I have dogs that need walking) We think we should win because we are single parents that need to be alive and healthy for our sons. We also believe that when something good happens you should pay it forward, and being teachers to children who have lost the motivation to take care of themselves, we could be role models for them, thus helping the adults of the future.
Thank you for the opportunity to look and feel better!!
